| 167256 | 2003-08-13 04:31:00 | Our 200Mhz Win98 machine shuts down in about 4secs, bamm! Awsome, thats how it should be :D XP Pro without SP1 takes about 15-25secs. Which is still pretty good compared to 2mins+ (with welcome screens on, and SP1). Whats this about not going back to your 166mhzer?? Heck I'm still making use of my 386! Its going to be turned into a Freesco firewall this avo :D |

| 167258 | 2003-08-13 05:30:00 | That is why I chose Windows 2K for home. NT Security, Multitasking and better memory handling, without all the fancy bits. Also with SP4, it is nearly stable. XP is nothing more than 2K with a Plus! pack. If you don't need the additional items that Plus! packs add, stick with 2K. If you use an even older OS, make sure you have alternative protection, i.e Firewalls, AntiVirus and Spyware scanners. |
