167742 2003-08-14 08:35:00 I got these pics today and aparantley there are new speed cameras going to be used in New Zealand. I don't know how genuine it is though. Has anyone else heard about this?

Here's the link : sal.neoburn.net

167743 2003-08-14 08:40:00 New?
Thats the standard one, just a new "container".
Looks real. Be afraid, be very afraid....

167744 2003-08-14 08:56:00 Well the images looked pretty convincing to me, but it could just be some elaborate joke? promethius (1998)
167745 2003-08-14 09:04:00 The first image is the only one that links the unit to the real thing .

Note that in that image, its not possible to ascertain if its the same bin in the second image .

The third and fourth images are the same image, cropped .

The timestamp could easily be fabricated

So although its not quite what it seems, its still a lot of work to be a hoax and I frankly don't see thats it needs to be, as I don't think there are limitations to just where they can be operated from?

167747 2003-08-14 09:35:00 Still could be a hoax, but that doesn't mean I'm not gunna be slowing down near wheelie bins! promethius (1998)
167748 2003-08-14 10:05:00 Looks completely homemade and fake. Notice the word on the camera in the second photo? It says "ROBOT". I don't know about you, but I don't think we have robotic speed cameras yet... :D agent (30)

167750 2003-08-14 10:41:00 Its true, it was on the telly the other night. A whole bunch of them got trashed when a couple of insurance assessors ran up the curb in their station wagon and plowed into them, skittled the lot, and I don't think they stopped either :O

Cheers Murray ;P

167751 2003-08-14 10:50:00 Was that on purpose, or an accident, then?

I suppose it's legal because there is a blue light (is it a flash?), and a few holes cut into a wheelie bin surely can't really be missed...
