167614 2003-08-14 04:11:00 is anyone able to tell me if i can use a win2k upgrade disc to upgrade from win98

167615 2003-08-14 04:15:00 Yes you can, but don't upgrade do a clean install. The win2k disk will detect the win98 install and give you an option of either upgrading or clean install. I recommend doing the clean install. If you have already formatted then the Win2k setup will ask you to put the win98 cd in the drive to verify that you actually have it then it will setup as normal. 167616 2003-08-14 07:02:00 when i tried upgrading 98se to win2000 , it refused to "upgrade", i had to clean install....then you have a dual boot. you get prompted before it boots to choose your os. NoDDyBoT (3582)
167617 2003-08-14 12:05:00 same with me. I think chill said there was a problem with w2k ad upgrading. I backed up my files and formatted. mind you, you couldn't format could you; its only an upgrade. hamstar (4)
