| 167833 | 2003-08-14 12:38:00 | Yes The patch is only a couple of weeks old. The Operating System on the new one will already be a few months old, so its unpatched. If it doesnt need the patch, it won't hurt it. When you do connect the new one, there will be many updates to do. |

| 167834 | 2003-08-14 22:35:00 | It would probably pay to get the patch first before any updates because the updates are going to take a loooooong time to download if you are on dialup. Get the patch from here (microsoft.com), install it and then get your updates. |

(if you are behind a router, you are usually safe) then download the patch, apply the patch . msblaster . exe is easy to clean if infected . run msconfig---> startup ---> untick msblaster . exe, then reboot . its done . But it is a network virus, that means anti-virus software cannot stop it getting in unless your system is patched or you got a firewall . good luck |
