168197 2003-08-16 10:00:00 I have XP OS. I was struck by Blaster, now fixed. But when I dial-up I now have the screeching noise and it is coming through my speakers. I have been in and reconfigured by taking the tick out of enable modem speakers, but still when I dialup I get the screech. Please help....I am not very conversant so detailed walk through would be really appreciated.
Thank you.

168199 2003-08-16 10:36:00 Its possible that in removing Blaster, your modem driver software was removed. In that case your modem would be using the Windows "default" driver software, which can mean that muting of the tones etc does not work correctly.

You need to tell what sort of computer (make/model) it is, and if you have any driver CDs that came with it.
