168146 2003-08-16 05:12:00 I received the following error while burning a cd using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5. What does it mean?

Creatr50.exe – Application Error

The instruction at “0x77fcb8f4” referenced memory at “0x00000000”. The memory could not be “written”.

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

I am doing this in the Massey Uni computer labs so I might not be able to fix the problem without having administrator privileges, but I wondered if it is something more simple I can do myself. I was burning a CD using a "HP CD-writer cd12 series" at 12 speed, and this error message came up after approximately half the burning had been done. I have tried using a different brand of disc (have used TDK 80 min, and Verbatim 80 min) and a different machine (with same software and specs) but the same error comes up. When I make another attempt, the same error comes up, usually earlier in the burning on subsequent attempts.

168148 2003-08-21 10:43:00 dont use roxio - it is always doing things like that, try nero, or if you really want to use roxio, try reinstalling it. i find most of my application errors like that are fixed by reinstalling. either way the error means the program is probably "broken" agent_24 (4330)
168149 2003-08-21 10:48:00 I never have any problems with it at all.

Have you updated to the latest patches??

168150 2003-08-21 12:17:00 Hi Shane

are u referring Massey uni in Albany campus??? ah ha... if u referring that place... i am a massey uni student in Albany......

massey uni computer running really stupid really? especially that login, sometimes it just have to take 5 min to login...

by the looks of it, their computer there is overload, i think it is recommend to switch off and reset the machine...

in the roxio program, i don't think the program have problems... in terms of buring CD, it is very dangerous not to have a test-burn 1st.... u should have a test-run first in order to prevent those buffer under-run...
