| 168684 | 2003-08-19 10:07:00 | Hi Guys I have a problem that has been taxing me for a while now. I have a small home network sharing the Internet. The host computer is running XP while the others run win98. The network runs well except that Internet sharing is somewhat stunted. For example; while using one of the client computers, if I go to a news page and click one of the links on that page it is almost certain to result in a 404 message. In short I can go straight to a page but cannot follow links on the page. Everything works just fine on the host computer. One factor in my set-up is that I was unable to get Internet sharing running once I installed XP on the host computer so I resorted to using Analogs proxy plus. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions? Oldfart PS I know that Proxy plus is full of holes so I do use a firewall. |
