| 168618 | 2003-08-19 07:44:00 | When I shut down WinXP I have to turn the power off manually but with my previous OS ( Win98SE ) it shut down automatically, how do I enable this for WinXP? | mafiamonkey (4431) | ||

Go to control panel, power options, advanced and there should be field asking what you want to do when you press the power button. One of the options will be shut down the PC. 2. Check that APM is enabled (as above). If so and it still does not work, go to device manager; under view have it show you hidden devices. Find NT / Legacy APM go to properties and enable. By default it is disabled. |
