| 168525 | 2003-08-19 00:58:00 | I'm looking at buying a digital camera: I'm stuck between the Olympus Camedia C-750 and the Canon Powershot S50. They both sell for the same price on www.etown.co.nz. BTW is ETown a good store? Forrest44. |

| 168528 | 2003-08-19 01:58:00 | Etown has been advertised all the way down to the Welly newspaper. Its based in Auckland. The prices are better than most cos they parallel import. They are not locally acquired from the local distributor. Check Canon or whoever u go with. Parallel imports basically says no warranty by the manufacturer unless its a true NZ distributed model - which is enforced by the serial number. Warranty for such a product can only be warranted by Etown. I know with Nikon is that, if its a import when u need service they call will call Nikon for parts and etc .. The serial no. is asked by Nikon before any parts are dispatched. If its a import like Etown, Nikon will not release the goods. There are also some stores will not even touch imports even if you pay them to fix it. I think other companies (some) are going that way too. Basically the choice is there for you. Ask Etown if its a import or not. Some models may be is local acquired. Warranty will be provided by etown so no worries here. But after the warranty period Etown should fix it for a fee. Getting warranty anywhere else in NZ or abroad even by paying may be troublesome if not impossible. Its a gamble. Olympus and Canon are both great cams. Canon has higher end models but the qualities of these brands are really good. So the model review out with the links given. Nomad. |

Have a look at http://www.expressgroup.co nz Help, Terms and conditions If you go to "more detail" for the camera's offered, some have just 12 month Warranty, others state 12 month (Camera's Make) Warranty Currently have a Nikon on order with them and have asked if the 12 month warranty is covered by Nikon. |
