| 168496 | 2003-08-18 23:25:00 | I am trying to install XP power toys and I get the message, "The procedure entry point GetDllDirectoryW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll" I hav run a search fo it anit is not on my computer. What do I do now?????? Jack |

| 168499 | 2003-08-19 18:44:00 | I found it. The hard way. I re-installed XP. FOUR TIMES. Why did XP keep finding an Intel Modem? Why does windows update still keep offering me an update for an Intel modem? I have an AMBIENT external modem. Why did I have to do four installs before XP recognised it? On the first three I couldn't even install it manualy. All I got was a message that an intel modem was on COM 2. And this non-existant modem would not be moved. On the fourth install My modem was recognised and I was asked to install drivers. AMAZING. Jack |

| 168500 | 2003-08-19 22:07:00 | Intel own Ambient which was formerly owned by Cirrus Logic (chip makers for modems) so XP being a newish OS is probably only recognising Intel as the chip. See this ( www.modem-help.co.uk). Cheers Murray P |
