| 168997 | 2003-08-20 12:29:00 | ok...... can a headset be used with onboard sound? there are 3 places to plug things into on the onboard sound, I've tried all variants but can't seem to get the mic to work , I can listen though the headset speakers only if I take out my comp speakers and plug it in there.. still cant get the mic to work,,, is that because its onboard sound, would a sound card fix this? Cheers |

(Might be a red colour for mic). Green colour hole is for your speaker/listening headphone. Once you've done that, you gotta sort out window's mic settings. In the volume control go into the properties and make sure all the settings are showing up e.g mic and line in. Then un-mute microphone, line in and turn the volume up etc. |

Then: Go Options-Advanced Controls Click on the "Advanced" button under the Mic control Make sure "Mic Boost (+20dB)" is ticked Otherwise take the headset to a friend's computer, and see if it works there. |
