| 168907 | 2003-08-20 05:13:00 | Unusual event today, nearly all of my junk email has an attachment and is riddeled with the WORM_SOBIG.F virus. It appears the spammers are either infected themselves or deliberatly trying to send me this virus. They are sending this in a file called movie0045.pif Anyone else having the same problem. |

Sobig.F is a new variant on the Sobig virus, which started spreading on Tuesday. It would appear to be spam because it purports to be from various well-known companies/organisations, and has subject lines such as "resume", "your details", and "Re: details". The virus also attempts to download files onto your computer, and set it up so a person can remotely control your computer. The virus is set to stop circulating on September 10, 2003. However, there is a small chance that the spammers could be infected with it, but that is quite a small chance. |

Although this virus fakes the From: address so it's possible they picked up our well-known company from those well-known business directories around the well-known www. |
