169161 2003-08-22 07:27:00 with 2 4ohm subs connected in paralell it makes an impedence of roughly 2 ohms. your amp is most likly designed for an 8ohm speaker. you can push it to 4 ohm but running it at 2ohm is going to kill it. tweak'e (174)
169162 2003-08-23 10:35:00 Hi Polk, how's it going? I feared for you after you disregarded Tweakie's advice. He was quite correct about impedances, & that, if your amp has 8ohm output, and you load it with the 2 ohm ( speakers in parallel), it will be disaster if you wind up the volume.

However, you could be lucky. After seeing the pic of your Soundworks Speaker Sub, I can confirm that it has a 10watt output at 4ohms, and so IF your 300w speakers are 8 ohms each, the two in parallel will be a 4 ohm load, and so be a perfect match for the Soundworks subwoofer amplifier.

As you have experienced, even though the amp only puts out 10watts, it will drive the new 10" subs better than the 4" ones in the Soundworks setup.

Goodluck.
