| 168950 | 2003-08-20 12:43:00 | Hey Greg, how is Kerio better than Zone Alarm, has this app let you down in the past. What features does it have than ZA doesnt??? Cheers in advance... | dotcommander (4338) | ||
| 168951 | 2003-08-20 12:51:00 | > Just get Norton Internet Security > Miles more advanced than most other software, and > much better protection I agree that Norton's Personal Firewall is the best software solution available - it's based on the engine from AtGuard, which was unbeatable. Kerio is almost as good, but doesn't have the range of additional aspects, eg adblocking etc. I can't speak for the rest of the Norton's protection suite, although there is a little bit of evidence that their anti-v aspect contributes to as many problems as it solves. |

I've never relied on Zone Alarm, and I've never had either a virus or any successful hack against my system | Greg S (201) | ||

Try all the free stuff first and save a $ and then if you are not happy look at buying something. Look at it another way, these products are probably 99.9% effective for the average user. ie one bug in a thousand gets through! And you have only had one bug in two years--- you do the math! |

On my main PC I've NIS + NAV running and I must say I'm happy with this setup. Wanna know if you're safe from attackers? Go Here (grc.com) to find out :D |

I got a years free subscription to Panda's Anti Virus program and it works superbly and has never failed to pick anything up! As far as firewalls go i've tried Zone Alarm and don't rate it and am presently playing with Kerio which is pretty good. |
