169236 2003-08-21 08:02:00 My mp3 player connects to a lpt1 port.After plugging it in.The computer won't detect the player and the software can't detect the player either?Whats happening? yingxuan (3330)

I wonder what the difference is?

Firstly make sure your LPT1 port is set as EPP or ECP in the BIOS. Or set as bi-directional at the very least.

I do not think the computer will or even should detect the player, the whole purpose of the pass through connector for the RIO is that it does not interfere with the normal operation of the parallel port. To do that suggests that it will probably not be detected by Windows.

Its only the RIO software that should detect it.
