| 169824 | 2003-08-23 06:11:00 | Hey Lohsing, you still around?Recorded into an image file a faulty audio cd,an original that's now skipping but still plays. Then mounted the image file and tried to play it.Using Chime Tray Play, simple program. In Win Explorer it showed the F drive(virtual) as having 400 odd mg in it,and the separate cda tracks, but clicking on a track to play it shows 44kb,which Tray Play also shows. So won't play of course. Was hoping to check out the sound before burning a copy.Which I eventually did after not getting the image to play. And the copy is worse than the original!Oh well.it's just another 50c gone!! Any clues why the image wouldn't play? Thanks. |

Never actually tried ripping into an ISO form, but generally, once in ISO form, I mount the image using Daemon Tools (www.daemon-tools.cc). That makes your PC think you have inserted an audio CD, from which you should be able to test. Let me know how you get on! Lo. |

| 169826 | 2003-08-24 07:24:00 | Thanks,Lohsing.I'll have a look at that Daemon Tool.Just thought that the virtual drive would allow me to play an audio file. Can rip with other programs, thought that Alcohol would get rid of the crook bits in the tracks.Have used Goldwave and Roxio also, they take a lot longer than Freerip or X-Tractor.So should see if that makes a better copy! As you see,I'm still using A.Amazing what's on Google. Must experiment more. Perhaps I have to repair the files after ripping to pc. Catch you later. | Neil McC (178) | ||
