169767 2003-08-23 03:31:00 I am trying to reinstall my hp 1200 scanner al in one software after having all sorts of virus probs, which were sorted out at my local comp. tech store, and I kepp getting the following window popping up as the software begins to install. At the top the window says the foolowing "msiexec.exe-i aiosw.msi trnasforms=setup\1033s.mst-I* "c:\windows\temp\h..." cant see what comes after that as the window ends there.
I have downloaded a "scrubber" from the hp website to get rid of the old
install.(the problem was pretrty much the same before I ran the scrubber)
running win98 256 ram 40gig hdd

thanks

169768 2003-08-23 03:42:00 Have you had a look in "system" to make sure the device is not showing?
Also a good idea to run regcleaner, to make sure that no remants are left over. I also know that some hardware needs to have the software installed first before connecting. Canon printers are one such item.

169769 2003-08-23 03:45:00 I would search on the error for you, but there appears to be too many spelling mistakes in the filenames to allow any results.

All I can tell is that it is Windows Installer having a problem.

If you can repost with a better version of the error message it would help. Exact spelling is critical.

does this make sense? I did find somewhere else that a reg cleaner might be the answer. But this seems like it could also be an option although I am having a little difficulty finding the file on the hp recovery cd
