169671	2003-08-22 22:41:00	We have XP and I have my own account. When I loaded my Desktop recently I noticed that a number of the icons for the programs had disappeared, and have not come back. Where have they gone and how can I make them stay? Thank you Emma	Emma (4267)
169672	2003-08-23 01:21:00	Hi Emma, There is a "Desktop Cleanup wizard" that by default is set to run every 60days till you change/untick the setting,(right click desktop empty space, Properties - Desktop tab - Customise Desktop- under General tab is "Desktop Cleanup" setting) but it will let you know when it does it/Runs if i remember rightly? - One possiblility is if you are using XP with an administrator account & another user has an admin account too they may have run it and inadvertently removed some program icons from your desktop too (as i remember something like this happening to me sometime back) If this has happened there is a folder that the wizard creates on the desktop with the icons it removed in & you can restore them from there, so perhaps have a look for that?? OR maybe the programs have been uninstalled??? Which icons are missing??? You will need to make shortcuts to them on your desktop again. Otherwise they "should" stay put. But let us know which ones are missing perhaps.... Also another thought is that this happens to us sometimes when i remove/delete an icon from a game that my partner has installed (both using admin accounts)with the icon being added at installation of game, which adds it to "all" desktops, however if one admin removes it from their desktop for some reason with some games/programs, it removes them from all users desktops ;-), so perhaps another user has been cleaning up their desktop?? I am sure somebody else may have more ideas on this too ;-) HTH :-)	J ZEP (336)
