170127 2003-08-24 06:18:00 How about a little more useful info, most notably your ISP?

International working A-OK for me - using the same bandwidth provider as most Telstra Clear and similar ISP's, via reach.

170128 2003-08-24 06:25:00 ISP is : Quik Internet (www.quik.co.nz)
ICQ connects wifout a problem..
MSN just says "theres a problem with internet connection blah"
Yahoo without a problem
Emails sending and receiving perfect...
did a full virus scan earlier this afternoon and no virus was detected...

msn is msn6...

am using winxp home with NIS and NAV running...always have had them running...

170129 2003-08-24 06:28:00 Weird, ICQ and Yahoo both use international servers so you are definitely getting International Traffic .

Messengers web-site reports all systems go .

I'm not sure who provides Quik's upstream bandwidth .

Try going to Start --> Run --> cmd --> OK

and enter in the following:

tracert www . novell . com

Copy and post the results .

So you can see that is where your international seems to be stopping, at the NZ gateway, hence only getting NZ hosted sites.

I'm still perplexed as to how ICQ etc is connecting if you can't get international traffic.

Just for shits and giggles I tried calling their Wellington helpdesk and got an after hours call centre that couldn't help. Offere a call back but not being a customer I declined ;-)

170133 2003-08-24 07:01:00 ok..thanks anyway...
will email the quik ppl 2morrow morning

170134 2003-08-24 07:04:00 Sorry, nothing I know of .

Dial up to a different ISP seems the best option, it should come right fairly quickly I would imagine, ISP's are usally quick to resolve international problems .
