170466 2003-08-25 11:23:00 If thats what its called. When you turn your computer on, and you press a key, and it goes it that menu thing, and you can change the boot sequence.

I thought you pressed delete? Im sure it was, i have done it a few time for knoppix.

Now, i press delete, and it doesnt do anything, neither does F10, or F12.

Whats going on?

170469 2003-08-25 21:34:00 If Del etc. haven't worked then try:

F1, F2, Ctrl+Shift+Esc

170470 2003-08-26 05:41:00 I have a MSI 6380, which is a KT3 Ultra i think.

Ill try F1, and F2, but im sure it was delete.

Maybe my memory is worse than the computer.

170471 2003-08-26 06:04:00 Oooooook.

I hope restarting your computer heaps doesnt reck it, because thats what i have been doing.

None of the F keys work eg. F1, F2, F3, F4 etc

Delete doesnt work. I am postive it use to.

But...

If i press from delete down to F11, it works. So on my keboard that is Delete, Insert, F12 and F11. Then i can get into the bios.

And if i press F11, then F10, or just F10, im not sure, then i get a boot sequence menu.

I dont know how that happened. How can i change it back to the simple Delete key?

170472 2003-08-26 06:25:00 What is the make and model of the computer? Or who is the maker of the BIOS (Phoeneix, Award, AMI, ...)? But if you give us no information other than "it doesn't work", you can't expect much help.

If it's a Compaq DeskPro, it might need a special partition on the hard disk, with the BIOS setup programme on it. If the partition has been removed, it isn't there. :D

170475 2003-08-26 07:29:00 Is there any advantage in updating to the latest bios?

Is it a bit risky updating the bios?

What about the VGA bios?
