170606 2003-08-26 01:28:00 I used to know how to remove programs from loading during reboot with Win98 but am having a problem with WinXP. What is the procedure for removing programs from the system tray on reboot?

170607 2003-08-26 01:39:00 Are you wanting to prevent programs from loading permanently or just temporarily for one reboot? To prevent them loading permanently go to Start / Run and type msconfig then go to the Startup tab. Note that it is better to disable programs from start up within the programs themselves. tommy (2826)

Don't bother using run - msconfig with XP.
Try Run - services.msc

170610 2003-08-27 20:39:00 I was wanting to remove some of the general utilities that load up on startup but have now stopped most of them by changing the settings within each program.

Thanks
