170302 2003-08-25 04:36:00 Isn't there usually a "reset" button on the photocopier? Otherwise unplug it, and leave it overnight, and try the following day.

Easiest way might be to contact the people who lent it to you.

Hit it with a hammer.

If it still doesn't work, get a bigger hammer.

170304 2003-08-25 04:51:00 It won't reset until the jam is cleared. Or even an imaginary jam has been cleared. I might have the same model, but it's been so long since I saw it buried under other things that I've forgotten :D

It will open in one of two ways:

Assuming that you are in front of the machine when you are facing the long side of the platen ... that is, paper comes out to you left or right; not straight at you. :D
1) Look for places on the sides at the front where you can pull the whole front down, disclosing the machinery. You might see a picture on the inside of that cover showing how to clear a jam. Pull both sides at the same time ... it's usually just a couple of magnetic latches.

If that doesn't work, look at the ends for a handle which will let the top surface hinge up from one end. That would be a real latch.

There might be a piece of paper visible part way through the works. Pull it out. Be careful not to break essential bits off.

The reference to "imaginary" jams means that the logic in the internal computer (and I know that computers are out to get you :D) decides that a jam has happened if a piece of paper is too slow passing varioous points inside the machine after it has started a cycle. (This can happen even without an actual jam). Opening the thing then closing it resets the "jam" state.

170307 2003-08-25 05:21:00 Sometimes paper jams (or thinks it's jammed) when it's too damp. Could that be a reason in your situation?

Esp. since the very wet weekend and last week (depending on which part of NZ you were in), it could be a factor.

170309 2003-08-25 08:23:00 ok its not working any more . . . . the page gets jammed at the roller? where the print is put on . it gets about an inch, or 20cms give or take a bit of print and then its jammed and as far as i can see the print and paper looks fine, no crinkles or anything but im wondering maybe the paper is damp like suggested earlyier?

or maybe its been sitting to long? the machine i mean (as it was in storage) and its damp?

any ideas?

i have got 19 of the 200 i have to do . . . . . so i really need to get it going and done and then heave it and go and buy a little new one for me!!!!!
with what im not sure but dreams are free .

wonder how long itll take for pre-ordered hammer will take to get here?
