2013-01-03 01:09:00 | Sounds about right. If you read the media reports before an OS is released you generally get an idea how will it will do after it is released. The media reports about Windows 8 before it was released were not all that favourable. :)

2013-01-03 01:38:00 | Win8 has taken some people by surprise with its changes, this means that reaction has been mixed. Unfortunately there are some uninformed tits who run around saying W8 is terrible, this is something that an OS will never outlive. Adoption WILL be slow now. Also 8 is replacing a very stable and established OS without the hype and expectation of the XP ---> Vista transition so I didn't expect it to be a huge hit | The Error Guy (14052) | |
2013-01-03 01:58:00 | "Upgrade fatigue" pretty much sums it up. Young people to whom Windows 8 would appeal do not have the money to constantly upgrade their operating systems as they spend it all upgrading their mobile phones and iPads, and old farts don't like change. :p :D | FoxyMX (5) | |
2013-01-03 02:32:00 | I have tried W8 and hate it! Bloated piece of software with terrible colours, with an interface which looks like a puzzle, also not compatible with some old software. I have returned to W7 which is 100% reliable and easy to use. | mzee (3324) | |
2013-01-03 02:37:00 | Not surprised. It could be worse if not because of the cheap $20 promo 'upgrade'

2013-01-03 07:16:00 | Unfortunately there are some uninformed tits who run around saying W8 is terrible, You are welcome to your opinion but mine is that Win8 is terrible on a desktop and don't tell me I can make it like 7. MS has done the whole Win8 thing to try and get there nose in the door with phones and tablets but I don't think there ploy is going to work as people no longer feel they have to be tied to windows.

2013-01-03 19:27:00 | I find it different and a bit confusing, although have only had play round with it on son's machine before he kicked it of and reverted to W7. I hope to buy a new desktop setup this year (with a big screen for video editing). Do away with the laptop as I have a Sony tablet and a Galaxy Ace 2 to access the net when I am not at home. As for touch screens on a home system, having suffered a stroke this year, touch would be quite difficult on a desktop. Perhaps I had better consider a new laptop? Or, buy a copy of Win7 and sit on it till I am ready to use on a new system? Ken PS Welcome back FoxyMX - haven't seen you on the forum for a few months.
