1320910 2013-01-01 00:11:00 It appears that we have several new knights in the New Year honour list. This includes Sir Paul Holmes. Bobh (5192)

1320912 2013-01-01 00:17:00 Well deserved, especially when he refused to be intimidated by the gangs who were involved when his daughter was doing it rough. Real kiwi bloke who really cares about other people and not is not the slightest PC. The fact he chooses to live in Hawkes bay instead of Parnel or Queenstown is telling about his character.
Jolly good show.

1320913 2013-01-01 00:29:00 I checked out the list yesterday.

If ever we feel that some are more, or just as deserving of the honour, it is up to us to set the wheels in motion to have them considered. I know of one case where submissions were made for a well-deserving person to be awarded an honour. The first attempt was unsuccessful. The following year our then local MP stepped up and offered to help with the procedure. Every t must be crossed and every i dotted, as well as every detail being correct.

There are also very many people who could/should be nominated but have no desire to even consider it.

1320914 2013-01-01 00:39:00 Even Bob Harvey, an ex-president of the Labour Party accepted a gong. That's a kick in the teeth for 'she who must be obeyed', H. Clark Esq. Richard (739)
1320915 2013-01-01 00:40:00 Will deserved Sir Paul. I know of a lot of people who would disagree.

1320917 2013-01-01 02:19:00 I think knighthoods have become a bit of a joke these days. They are like toilets, everybody has one!! Pato (2463)

Well deserved - yes! His good deeds outweigh negatives of the Dennis Connor interview, and dis-services to aviation ...

I think his preference for Hawke Bay stems from that's where he was raised, and nearby Clive is where his family lived.

So why's he a commie? Because he doesn't live up to your ideals?
