1320483 2012-12-28 23:41:00 Is there such a site for searching for NZ deaths for previous 10 years. Driftwood (5551)
1320484 2012-12-28 23:50:00 What about cemetery records if you know where the person is buried. Bobh (5192)
1320485 2012-12-29 00:07:00 You should find the numbers - if that's what you're after - here:

Statistics New Zealand (www.stats.govt.nz)

1320487 2012-12-29 00:39:00 Here is the situation, I am wanting to find out if a certain person has actually died.
I do not wish to contact the family & ask.

That sort of works.
Put in a few names to check.
Dosent seem to find all of them.
Apparently my father is still alive.
I fairly certain we buried him.

1320490 2012-12-29 02:53:00 If you really need to know:

www.dia.govt.nz

1320491 2012-12-29 03:03:00 I have found fatalities records in NZ Archway Archives (www.archway.archives.govt.nz/) for people that have worked for NZ Govt agencies Plus tons of other info, e.g probates, military, divorce, govt loan, etc. Some records can only be viewed at the nearest archives facility (e.g Wellington, Auckland), downloaded, etc or may require a court order through the justice department. kahawai chaser (3545)
1320492 2012-12-29 03:15:00 I eventually found the one I was looking for on Memory Tree.
Missed the funeral by a few months.
Bit of a loophole here.
If you don't check the obituaries everyday, how are you supposed to know.
