| 1321129 | 2013-01-03 05:02:00 | Am I alone in believing that the New Zealand Government, and its agencies, should cease forthwith all financial assistance to the NZ Cricket team until such time as they can justify their existence on the world cricket scene? Hell, I would have liked to have received massive annual funding when I was in my 20's to allow me to pursue my sport of choice - be it bare back sheep racing, side-car falling off, or whatever. |

If you want to play world class sport you don't choose budget eyewear - you get something world class that doesn't hamper your performance! Would you expect the team to play in Gumboots if a gumboot company sponsored them? No! |

Budding young cricketers will either decide it's not worth it, or go over to Aus, where they'll earn enough to live off the game. Ditch the 20/20 in my opinion. That'd at least get our serious players geared towards playing cricket, rather than bashing the ball around. |

They should stick to playing Kenya and Ireland. But really is test match cricket viable anymore, look at the crowds they get. But don't forget we did have two of our best batsmen absent - Taylor and Ryder. |
