2003-08-27 21:23:00 | Could someone please tell me how to uninstall Mailwasher, as it is causing me untold grief. Running Win 2000 pro, it is not listed in prog files or add/remove programmes. Can't find an uninstall for it anywhere. Thanks in anticipation, Tony S.

2003-08-27 22:14:00 | Go look in the Mailwasher directory under Programs, and see if there is a file called uninstal.exe or unwise.exe. Double click on that to start the uninstall process. | Jen C (20) | |

2003-08-28 07:19:00 | Use windows explorer and open the ProgramFiles\Mailwasher folder - or wherever you saved it too - and there will be an uninst000 application file to run. | Russell D (18) | |

2003-08-28 09:34:00 | I would try what Stu said -- reinstall it and see if you can uninstall it then. If not, maybe you could try deleting the Mailwasher folder then use a registry cleaner to remove the entries from the registry. JV16 Power Tools (jv16pt) from www.macecraft.com is an excellent one but I am not sure it is free anymore.

2003-08-28 09:51:00 | thank u Susan B and Stu, couldn't reinstall it as I don't even have the zip file as it was taken straight from a cd, which was borrowed. In desperation I followed Susan's advice and deleted the folder, but there is no reference to it in Reg Cleaner. This one is wierd. Hopefully that will be the end of prob. I will keep you good knowledgable people informed. Thanks again from Tony S.

2003-08-28 12:37:00 | Hi Tony S. You say in the first post that Mailwasher is giving you "grief" What grief? May I ask? I used Mailwasher for quite a while under WinXP Pro. I have not used Mailwasher under Win2000. I stopped using Mailwasher recently as I changed my ISP and the spammers haven't caught up yet. Recently though I have had two variants of the "Nigerian letter" My Email address up until two months ago was XXX@xtra.co.nz. This email address had been used for about six years. I have never had any problem connecting to Xtra and have no complaints with them regarding service. I can get Jetstream here but didn't like the pricing structure. On my dialup 56K modem with Xtra I could download what I wanted. Usually I would start a download after midnight. ( No MP3s) I might add. If I start getting more spam I will then go back to Mailwasher. I changed to my present ISP because I was able to get Broadband Internet access at a reasonable price. Uncapped as well!! At the moment I pay $55 + GST per month for all the Internet I can eat. Oh yes... There are no traffic lights where I live. Shortly I will change to VOiP Telephone as well. Why I am I making this post?? As I see It (AISI) heaps of people live in Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Christchurch and even Wanganui.... G'day Beetle and others. :-) The house I rent here costs me $80.00 per week on a quarter acre section. Why not move here? Sorry to change the subject but once again I just said what is on my mind ( assuming you think I have one ) :-)
