170937 2003-08-27 09:43:00 Do we need to rent the cable modem or can we buy it? nomad (3693)
170938 2003-08-27 10:46:00 I *think* this is Clear's Cable ADSL, only available in areas where Clear has its own cable run. Not available over a wide area of NZ if thats the case.

Also, if it is Cable access, you have to use their modem/router.
You would have a hard job trying to buy a Cable router/modem anyway, as there is no demand (apart from Clear buying them)

Those prices exclude GST

170939 2003-08-27 11:13:00 I am of the understanding that it is only on offer to business customers in the CBD of the three main cities. -=JM=- (16)

170942 2003-08-28 00:09:00 Is this Tempest 256K?

I believe they allowed Residential into this, I know it changed not so long ago, problem is you have to be within Clear's (Telstra's) Network. Unfortunately I wasn't but they said they'll be sure to let me know when it gets here. As I can foresee it, it will never come.

And it's unlimited too.

I actually wanted this service so I could run a server on it, since they give you a static IP and their terms allow it, but because I wasn't in their network, well you know...
