170845 2003-08-27 02:21:00 Hi there!

I was wondering if someone out there can solve this mystery?

I went to use the "Calculator" application the other day only to find that it has disappeared off the face of the earth! I went to search for it using the "Search files/folders" utility. But alas, that provided no joy :(

Anyone know how I can recover this application that has gone AWOL? I think when I went to uninstall MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger, that that might of contributed to the disappearance of the "Calculator". But that's only a guess! I'm running "Windows XP Professional"

Thanks in advance!
Brian

170847 2003-08-27 02:29:00 Get your XP cd and stick it into the drive; go to Add/Remove Programs and reinstall it. I think you'll find it under Accessories

Can't comment on why it disappeared though

170848 2003-08-27 02:31:00 Just to elaborate... yes it's under Accessories - to get there in Add/Remove you need to click on the Add/Remove Windows components Greg S (201)
170849 2003-08-27 03:13:00 If the Calculator shortcut has been deleted from under Accessories, you would not of found it by using the word "calculator" in the search field.

The program to search for is calc.exe. It is found under C:\WINDOWS\System32. Have a look in there for the program, and make a new shortcut for Accessories.
