170807 2003-08-26 21:37:00 I have Win XP Home Edition.

Everytime i boot up PC and comes to the welcome screen where you can select you pic to logon as the user.
Beside my username it reads "33 unread emails"
I have checked my OE and read/downloaded all emails from the ISP and also hotmail ones.

Why is this "33 unread emails" showing up on screen then?

Thanks.

170808 2003-08-26 21:49:00 This information refers to Outlook Express and Windows Messenger

You have unread messages in one or both of these.

170809 2003-08-26 22:49:00 If you have TweakUI for Win XP installed you can disable the notification of how many unread emails you have in your Inbox. Fire-and-Ice (3910)
170810 2003-08-29 11:33:00 You most likely have a corrupt registry setting.

Export and delete the following registry keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\UnreadMail\[Your E-Mail Address]\Message Count

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\UnreadMail\MesssageExpiryDays
