| 171124 | 2003-08-28 03:25:00 | win98se.........My pc gets through the p.o.s.t. ok and shows the windows screen, followed by a black screen with a flashing curser in the top left hand corner, and goes no further. I go to safe mode to check all my desk top icons.ok. I have done a scandisk and defrag whilst in safe mode, and then go back to start, and I end up in the same position of no boot....help please..........Gord | gord (4145) | ||
| 171125 | 2003-08-28 06:19:00 | If you have not restarted your computer too many times you could try: On rebooting hold down the "Ctrl" key after memory post. Next you will see a screen with options on how you want your computer to boot. Select "command prompt" and when your computer shows C:/ type in "scanreg/retore" [without the quote marks] this will allow you to choose a previous time (day) which your computer booted before you added anything like software, or changed any settings......hope this helps. |
