| 171191 | 2003-08-28 10:40:00 | Trying to help a friend set up their PC for internet. Outlook express keeps saying it is not the default mail handler. Have looked under Tools/options/general. At bottom of window is Default message program. Then a line saying "This application is not the default mail handler." I click on button that says make this the default. When I close outlook express this changes back to "not the default handler" How do we get it to accept and stay as the default. PC is a HP Vectra with windows 98. | Peter M (852) | ||

| 171193 | 2003-08-28 12:17:00 | dotcommander, Thanks but you are talking about Internet Explorer. I am trying to set it in Outlook express. Have also tried what you suggest and found that outlook express is not given as an option in the drop down menu for e-mail programme in Tools/internet options/programs. Maybe if someone can tell me how to get it into that drop down list it may solve the other problem? | Peter M (852) | ||

| 171200 | 2003-08-30 21:39:00 | It may not work for W98, try this. Start/Run and type: "C:\ProgramFiles\OutlookExpress\MSIMN.EXE"/REG. |
