| 171116 | 2003-08-28 03:00:00 | A friend purchased a CanoScan (FB630P) scanner and accidentally tossed out the installation CD. She had a techo doing another job on her PC and asked him if he could install it but he was unable to. She got me to have a try too and hence this call for help! OK downloaded and installed the driver no prob but the scanner does not show up anywhere on the hardware devices ie hardware not installed and does not show up when plugged in and rebooted. Any suggestions?! Dell Dimension XP Home. Thanks |

You may like to try this: Uninstall anything that you have for the scanner in the computer and close down. Plug in the scanner to the computer and the power and turn on then start the computer. I think Windows will detect the new hardware and install it and then reinstall the drivers. This worked for me but I use W98se on Dell |

Try setting it up and push one of the function buttons on the scanner and, with luck, a little "Event On Device"window may pop up on your screen and ask you which software to use to input your scan to, eg, CanoScan Tool Box Ver 4.1. You won't get the same tho if you haven't installed off the CD. Cheers Murray P |
