| 171076 | 2003-08-27 23:07:00 | Ok, I have downloaded and tried some answering machine software on my home PC (from www.download.com - there's heaps of em), but can't seem to get any of them to work? i.e. every time I do a 'test ring' I always get an engaged signal. Am I trying the impossible? I mean is it possible to use this software with a 56k dial-up modem? Any ideas? Has anyone ever used this type of software? Also we have call waiting, could this be affecting it? |

If so, how come its engaged, thats my worry . Is your modem internal PCI or external hardware type . It certainly works with external hardware modems, they usually come with the software . I am not certain that all PCI modems will work . |
