2003-08-30 21:11:00 after half an hour I finished downloading the zonelab firewall off the internet site, but got the inevitable message at the finish again . (unknown extension on file c:\windows\tempor~\content.ie5\4oh55qr4\zasetu~\ex e). This not only shows with zonealarm, this error shows with any program I want to install. What has gone astray and how can I fix it please? Thank you NZHawk (4093)
2003-08-31 12:44:00 Looking at the directory it is only a tepory file and appears to have no extension at all assuming below is correct. I usually file all my downloads under a directory of that name and then decide what to do with them later.

2003-09-01 01:58:00 half an hour to download zone alarm on dial up sounds a bit excessive. If you ever buy netguide (cheap), it usually has the lastest zone alarm updates on it. I guess you could uninstall the old one or just clean install over it. Or use another free firewall... dotcommander (4338)
2003-09-01 02:10:00 What operating system? windows????? If using XP , you can download a file from here (www.dougknox.com) that will restore the standard XP file associations and leave intact those from 3rd parties such as *.rar etc... Pheonix (280)
2003-09-01 02:17:00 Also, I think you are looking for the file in the wrong place. Should be under c:\windows\temp not c:\windows\temporary internet
You could do a search for za*.exe to find where it got downloaded to.

2003-09-01 11:01:00 Thank you for everyone's assistance. This error even appeared when I attempted to install ZoneAlarm from PCWorld monthly CD. NZHawk (4093)
