| 171849 | 2003-08-31 04:20:00 | I was backing up my system, (don't we all) and found that the CD disk came back as an error. Have found that I have a corrupted file that cannot be read. Have tried to delete this file but windows cannot read it or open it, so it informs me that nothing can be done with it. I suspect that this was originally a Pagemaker file, and is over 10meg. in size, file name ro^ ^&^ Can anyone suggest a way of getting rid of it. Thanks |

| 171850 | 2003-08-31 04:28:00 | If the file is on the CD then it can't be deleted... ?:| What version of Windows are you running? > and found that the CD disk came back as an error I'm a little confused as to what you mean here - could you try to explain what is reporting the error? Are you trying to write the file to a CD? or is the file on a CD already? Mike. |

What often works is to use DOS on it. :D Get into the directory and experiment with "DIR ro*.*", "DIR ro*." , and see if it appears in the response. Then you should be able to use the same wildcarded (the "*" or "*"s) in a "DEL ro*.*" or whatever. You'll be OK if it's the only file which appears in the DIR response. If you are worried move all other files expect that into another directory, then "DELTREE" the directory containing it. |

What I do now is not backup this particular file file, and all is OK. However remembering to do this means I sometimes foo-pah on it. Great to not have to worry about it. Mike has come up with a thought and that is to move the other files to another directory, and leave this on its lonesome. Thanks |
