| 171965 | 2003-09-02 10:01:00 | No I don't update, not even with security patches, as it always freezes on the microsoft download page. I run 98se. I did try and find out why it freezes in one of their pages, but it says something about having more than one ie installed, or something similar. Well I run IE 5.5, and only that. So I gave up. I run Nortons, and zone alarm, and hope for the best. One day I am going to have to try and figure out how to reformat, so when something really drastic happens, guess that will be the time. | 171966 | 2003-09-02 11:11:00 | You never need to reformat if you do a backup image of The C : drive like I do using DriveImage 2002 takews 10 to 15 mins to restore my 98SE O/S etc means I can experiment all I like with new programs and not be afraid of botching up my PC , or of any virus or browser hijackings etc Restore brings my PC back with all drivers and software as it was when last imaged , makes life easy when it comes to upgrading HDD s as well |
