172201 2003-09-01 04:17:00 Is the Blaster worm/virus/etc no longer a b-i-g threat? Gimme_DOS (4488)
172202 2003-09-01 04:19:00 Nope, its still out there...

Just as much a threat if you arent patched!

172204 2003-09-01 05:13:00 Hey bmason how do you know that. Must explain I'm new to the Internet world having just updated from DOS and still very shaky on Win. Did a lot of reading before coming online (and I do mean a heck of a lot). Am running XP with all the latest updates and XP firewall running, Norton AV updated daily, Zone Alarm firewall and cleaning up with Ad Aware 6 and Spybot S&D (updating both regularly).
So, please, how do you know the Blaster is still attacking and how can I find out if it's having a go at my system??

172206 2003-09-01 06:02:00 zonealarm will log the attemps. however if you have the XP firewall running as well it will block the attemps so ZA won't see them. tweak'e (174)

172208 2003-09-01 06:25:00 Yes. I'm getting the numbers from my firewall (smoothwall in my case).

Some ISPs will be safer than others. esp xtra because they are blocking the port.

I'm on paradise.net, and all the attecmpts are coming from paradise net systems.
