| 172384 | 2003-09-01 23:36:00 | Hi there, this morning whilst trying to connect I got a "error 630, the computer is getting no response from the modem" message...was working fine yesterday. It is a supraexpress 56i, and is the original modem with the comp. a compaq 4020. The modem is seated properly, and I have tried restarting etc, but no luck. Any ideas? Pleaseeeeeeee don't say reinstall drivers as I wouldn't have a clue how to do that! There is no yellow exclamation mark beside it in devices tab..running win98. Thank you for any suggestions you may have... |

Have you got the correct modem selected in your dialup connection My Computer/Dialup networking Right click your ISP connection and select properties At the bottom where it says Connect Using check that your correct modem is showing in the box. Ctrl/Alt/Delete and look for RNAAPP and end task if it is there. If still not working you may have to reinstall modem driver. Check Control panels/Modem/Diagnostics/More info If you get an error modem not responding than it is the modem or drivers at fault. |

| 172387 | 2003-09-02 02:23:00 | Try going start-settings-control panel-add new hardware. On the menu that comes up, choose " do not search, I will pick from list" (or something close to it :) ) You can then select modem from the list and hit the "have disk " button near the bottom. Then point it to the A drive. | Pheonix (280) | ||
| 172388 | 2003-09-02 02:47:00 | If you looked at the files on the A drive, how many files are there? If it is xxxx.zip (xxxx = name of some sort) , then that file will have to be unzipped somewhere. If enough room, you could try A drive. | Pheonix (280) | ||
