| 172340 | 2003-09-01 14:21:00 | Umm, I have Ad-Aware 6 Pro. and use it all the time but is that enough to keep my computer "clean" and running at it peek performance? Any any other programs that can assist? Oh, also, I remember reading about a Windows Update in XP that caused more problems that it fixed where people found it to slow their computer down alot. Can any one tell me if Microsoft have removed this from their Updates and if not, the number of the update so I can remove it?? Thanks James Peace Out |

| 172341 | 2003-09-01 14:38:00 | You might like to try Norton SystemWorks for keeping things running fast etc. Includes Windoctor for fixing windows when it starts dying, disk doctor for disk problems, speed disk for optimising your hard disk and their files to make it run faster (better than Windows Defragger). Also includes a whole host of other stuff like Antivirus. Also for security get Norton Internet Security, or seeing if you have NSW,then just get Norton Personal Firewall cos NIS has Antivirus in it - no need to buy twice. To top it off, DriveCrypt Plus Pack & PGP and your done. Then if you like that setup, you can image your drive with DriveImage. Then if something goes wrong you just restore the last backup image, and your back to normal within 30mins - without all the hassles of reinstalling the OS and all your programs. |
