| 172986 | 2003-09-04 11:55:00 | I am trying to copy a Microsoft Encarta Disc. Purely as a backup of course!!! I did ask this Q some time ago, but never resolved it. Clearly I am not doing it right. I had Nero V5.5 which I tried to update to V6 & somehow corrupted the damn thing. It will not run the original V4 properly after partly "deleting" before installing V6. Copying for backup is OK, though even that can breach the owners' copyright, and neither IDG nor the PF1 forum community condone copyright breach of any sort, let alone the magnitude you are claiming. I don't think your thousands of "customers" were having backups made, so if I were in your shoes I would be very very afraid, a door knock may be imminent. Billy 8-{) :| |

I will stand corrected but Nero does not copy over the copy protection while CloneCD does but having never used CloneCD cannot advise on how it is done. I assume you have burnt the backup, if so, that might be why it will not run. |
