My friend who is a newbie does not have the double computer icon in his system tray when he is on line. How can he disconnect easily when he has finished with the Internet without going back to the desk top and the dial up connection icon?
I have tried to find it (we both have Win XP HE but his configuration is totally different to mine and I went crosseyed trying) |

go into the control panel and click on network connections. Doublle click on your internet connection then click on properties. While in the general tab navigate towards the bottom of the pallette and make sure the 'show icon in notification area when connected' box is ticked. Hopefully this will do the trick... |

Thanks, will get him to try this. I had already come home and found how on my computer. But his display is very small and as I said I went crosseyed viewing it and trying to find it. Would that be to do with whether he has Windows Classic or whatever? |

If his display is very small he may have his monitor's resolution set too small. |

Thanks for your help. I'll get him to see if he can look in to that too. |
