| 173150 | 2003-09-05 22:23:00 | Those little green joined computers on the task bar. Is there any significance to the flashing (rate and each computer). Can they be used for trouble shooting? I have problems every few months, for no fathomable reason the internet is slow and keeps disconnecting. I have xtra as an ISP and live in Northern East Massey, not exactly Hicksville. I go through a routine of ping tests, calling xtra, downloading driver updates, setting up new dial accounts,running updated NAV, disconnecting phones etc and its all a waste of %&^#$*@ time. What annoys me the most is when the xtra help says no known problems on its network. I ring them and say pse change the message to " problems reported of slow connection in Northern East Massey but they dont do it. :D I have a theory maybe its someone in my street downloading mega volumes of porn decreasing the bandwidth. tedheath |

| 173151 | 2003-09-06 00:17:00 | hi ya, as most of you know im from wanganui, and have xtra for a connection at times it (the connection) is really slow and annoying falls off etc, i am in the business district for lines, so have better speed levels for dial up it seems. but my moan is on my two computers when on the net (at different times as not networked yet) one runs at 52 kbps and the other runs at 48 kbps no major issues as this is still fast but its odd as they get plugged into same phone socket????? and the icons on the tray are intermittent, enought to catch eye occasionally but not constant so im not sure if this is related to connection good bad or speed level? beetle |
