I have to work out whether the problems are big enough for me to get another XP disk and reinstall. Last computer I reinstalled was a 98SE, and don't know how to go about it with XP... I mean, I had a licensed copy of the software - laptop has a little certificate sticker - can I get just borrow a CD and reinstall? I could always format the drive and go for Linux instead. ;o) |

Make sure that the option to block animation is turned OFF. Go to IE tools/internet options/advanced/multimedia. Ensure the option to show animations is turned on. If no joy, make sure your .gifs are associated to Internet Explorer - if you click on a .gif in windows explorer, IE should open to display it. www.dougknox.com : |

| 172912 | 2003-09-10 05:48:00 | Oh my god. It was so easy. Zone Alarm pro was blocking animations, and this was causing other web graphics to go screwy and display in the wrong places. I was this close <--> to reinstalling windows XP and all the nightmares that would have entailed (nearly two years of customising my laptop - sad but true) Thanks! I'm Fixed! |
