173240 2003-09-05 09:23:00 T'weake, my MB = Award version 1, and in Motherboard Resources, it says that drivers are not required. Is this true, or should I try loading some?
OS= Win 98 SE
Will this help?

173241 2003-09-05 09:30:00 I would look at resetting the plug and play info in BIOS.

go in to bios and look for a menu called "plug and play" or some thing like it.

in there you can select to reset pulg and play info.

have a try.

173243 2003-09-06 01:24:00 Tried that - didn't seem to free any IRQ settings up, though. :( eef2 (1904)
173244 2003-09-06 03:05:00 Firstly, if its not causing a problem leave it alone. All you've lost is the ability to share interrupts.

Otherwise more info:

- What caused it? ie have you just reinstalled?
- Find out who made made your mobo and the chipset it uses, (google for "aida32" if you need a tool to identify it). It wasn't award.

Then, install the drivers for your motherboard.

If that doesn't work, change some of the ticks in the IRQ steering settings. Start with "Set defaults". Otherwise untick some of them esp. ACPI.

173245 2003-09-06 03:22:00 I don't really think that all those options should be ticked. They are intended for different situations. Most of the time the theory "If one is good more must be better" is wrong. I'd undo all of them, then enable the defaults. If that doesn't give a working system, try the others, but one at a time.
