| 173396 | 2003-09-06 06:19:00 | I know this will open a can of worms, but my son and I are in a bit of a quandary! We want to get a game console.......and have tossing about with the idea of buying either an Xbox or a Playstation 2! Any ideas? Any sites where I can check this out? Which is the best one to go for? The PS2 is probably a better choice....(I got one, so it better be) and you can play DVD's straight out of the box. With the XBOX, i believe you need a remote, but most packages usually sell em. Id be inclined to go for the PS2, because you can play your PS1 games on it, which will let you play games like final fantasy 7 and 8, which everyone should get thier teeth into again read the reviews at www.pcsoftware.co.nz fairly helpful. |

| 173398 | 2003-09-06 06:35:00 | at the moment i;d say playstation coz of alllllll the games around.. but after time xbox would be better as i not sure if i'm right but u can do online gaming via xbox....and the game list would grow i'm sure... u could always hire a playstation from the local video store and give it a go..if u like..go for it... if u know someone with a xbox..go around give that a go...if u like...decide :) for me personally...i like playstion better coz of the games around, and coz the console is easier to use....... let us know what u decide...if and when u decide :) |

However it is possible to install any modchip and then Linux, and make a simple keyboard adaptor all for about $50 and 20 minutes work. Also XBox's game list is rapidly increasing and many new popular games are expected out on the consol in the near future, such as Counterstrike and Vice City. I have had both and have sold the PS2. Where abouts do you live? Anyone in Tauranga wan't to buy my XBox off me? I don't play either of them enough and would rather have the money. Also I find most games like FPS are better on the computer with a mouse. I think it's best you try both for yourself before you buy either. Don't let peoples biast opinions persuade you, ofcourse they are going to favour the consol they have themselves. HTH | Craig (448) | ||

God knows how many Microsoft Liscence Agreements you're breaking just by using it on more than one TV!!!!!!!! :D Stick with PS2. Smooth, sharp and a brand that everyone knows, trusts, and loves. |
