173227 2003-09-05 07:49:00 I reformatted my partitioned hard disk and reinstalled Windows XP Home. Everything was working perfectly okay. However, I went into Device Manager and noticed that "Universal Serial Bus Controller" had a yellow question mark next to it. Thinking that I had to install it, I updated/installed the driver for it, but during this proccess, something went wrong and when I next rebooted the computer it would not load - it kept restarting at the loading screen.

So much to my frustration I re-reformatted the hard disk and reinstalled XP. Windows now works perfectly fine, but my USB mouse doesn't work and the USB ports seem to be dead. Any suggestions?

Is there something that has somehow changed in the bios? because I would have thought that re-reformatting the hard disk would have corrected this.
