173579 2003-09-07 04:29:00 Hi

I've got a soltek am m/b and a athlon 1700xp xp cpu, whenever I boot up bios always defaults to it telling me that I have a 1100mhz Athlon chip(when it should be a 1469mhz).

AND the other strange thing is I can leAVE all my settings on default and it also tells me that overclocking has failed for some strange reason.

Help! Ive spent two sleepless nights reinstalling everything under the sun and it still reads the same.

173580 2003-09-07 04:41:00 You've probably got the FSB (Front Side Bus) setting on your motherboard wrong.

Pop into the BIOS and look for this setting (which is probably 100 at the moment) change it up to 133 and give it a go.

Worked wonders for my similar problem :)
