173467 2003-09-07 01:03:00 i recently downloaded some new drivers for my nvidia tnt2 64 video card. but they stopped windows (Me) from loading. tried heaps of stuff and decided that i dont have anything important on there so ill just reformat.

problem is, the only way i know of to reformat is in dos to type in "format c:". I cant do this tho because windoze wont load in normal mode only in safe so i cant restart im ms dos mode. i also when computer is loading and i press F8 to choose safe mode i dont have the option of msdos mode.

any help on how to fix this so i can reformat or alternative ways of reformatting greatly welcome

thanks

173469 2003-09-07 01:21:00 try reinstalling the older drivers in safe mode 1st before formatting and remember to save all mp3s data etc to another HDD or partition kiwibeat (304)
173470 2003-09-07 01:23:00 "To create a boot disk, you will need a blank, 1.2 megabyte (MB) disk. You may also need your Windows Me CD, so be sure to have it handy. To create a startup disk:

Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then click Add/Remove Programs.
Click the Startup Disk tab, and then click Create Disk.
Label a floppy disk "Windows Me Startup Disk," insert the disk in your floppy drive when prompted, and then click OK. Windows Me will begin to copy files to the floppy disk.
When copying is complete, click OK, and then store the disk in a safe place.
