173557 2003-09-07 21:24:00 Spoke to an insider at Telecom on the weekend (someone quite high up in the food chain!) and they said new changes with ADSL on the 22nd of this month.

I'll believe it when I see it! :)

173558 2003-09-08 01:52:00 Supply and demand is supposed to drive the market. But sometimes, the demand can be apathetic, and sometimes the supplier can be simply too deaf to hear the calls. I think the petition is a good way to make a clear statement about users demands. Not everybody is willing to pay the existing price for broadband, and therefore stop paying or change supplier to make a statement. When there is no or little choice, voting with your pocket isn't effective enough, so hopefully the petition will make Telecom sit up and listen. Lizard (2409)

173560 2003-09-08 01:57:00 Is it? No mention of a date in there at all.

Where can one find out about these plans on Telecoms website?

173561 2003-09-08 14:25:00 These URL's may be of interest to most users:

Watch this space on pricing says Xtra
No firm date or details on new structure released yet:
computerworld.co.nz

Broadband, you're soaking in it
Plethora of options to be let loose over next year:
computerworld.co.nz

No limits for south Auckland broadband
Network to be launched by Minister of Communications:
computerworld.co.nz

And lastly, this is what's looking real promising, and most interesting to me (Running your own server not being discouraged, on a 512Kbps connection... Heaven!)
Wired Country shakes up broadband market
"It doesn't make sense to ration a resource that's not scarce":
computerworld.co.nz

There is something about it on Xtramsn somewhere too, but I cant find the URL, as its ticked over past midnight and so my histroy has gone :-(

Cheers

173562 2003-09-08 21:19:00 What are you up to CS? None of those links work! :( CYaBro (73)
173563 2003-09-08 21:20:00 Just remembered about the gap long links get in them. Need to remove the %20. CYaBro (73)
173564 2003-09-08 23:32:00 Yeah, sorry, I thought of that after... You'll all just have to be clever cookies and remove the spaces and/or %20's ;-) Chilling_Silently (228)
